Responsibility 199, what is it?

Responsibility 199 is a belief; I believe that to be healthy and to increase my longevity I need to weigh 199 pounds or less...
Responsibility 199 is a need; I need to reduce my weight, reduce my percentage of body fat, and the elevated threat of disease my present condition presents...
Responsibility 199 is a mission; I recognize that achieving 199 will be a challenge, perhaps the hardest I have ever undertaken...
Responsibility 199 is a commitment; I acknowledge that I must commit to action, commit to change, commit to myself and those I love to achieve this mission, to increase my longevity...
Responsibility 199 is ME.

Day 264 - Seriously, Do Not Take It

source
Calorie advice is not always best taken seriously such as that shared yesterday. Some days, we get advice such as the below, and know it out to seriously not be taken...

Food you do not order has far less calories. Therefore eat guilt free off of the plate another person has ordered.

Food passes through the stomach four times faster when eaten while standing, thus we absorb a quarter of the calories. Eat while walking, six times faster. While running, eight times. Unfortunately while driving fast calories don't pass through a dozen times faster, oh well.

If you slice your pie and cake portions neatly then you will be less tempted to trim those poorly left edges and inhale them. But, even if you do, everyone knows that trimmed dessert edges have nearly zero calories.

Calories on seconds are raised to the 2nd power, on thirds to the 3rd power; and so on. Therefore do not go back for more, instead get it all plated the first serving.

Those mini sausages and cheeses served with toothpicks have less calories as some escape when the appetizer is stuck. Thus always look for those stuck with multiple toothpicks if you want to enjoy more appetizers.

Remember to have SERIOUS FUN when getting healthy, you & and everyone around you will Thank You for it!

  1. In the same vein, if you break a candy bar in half before eating, all the calories fall out.

  2. Too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having fun while losing & getting healthy is important!

I think I lost weight during the back injury cause I had to stand so much.... standing does burn more calories that sitting!

  3. So how many times faster if you are swimming? That would be good information to know.

  4. I like that math. I can't follow it. But I like it.

Theoretically I could buy a chocolate cheesecake with espresso crust, happen to dump the box over causing it to break into a zillion tiny pieces and then the entire cheesecake is almost no calories, right?

  10. I've always gone by the rule that if I drink a diet soda with my meal I am saving myself about 160 calories. Somehow that gets translated in my mind as -160, that way if I add some chips to the meal the whole thing equals.....0???

  11. Some how, some way, "calories" have become the enemy. In truth, calories are our friends. The reality is though, that too many friends spoil the party. Just invite the ones closest to you :-)

  12. I love your take on the calories, even though I am on WW it is to funny. I always knew that trimming the uneven edges on pie was zero calories.. lol..

  13. There's nothing worse than being a miserable piece of crap when trying to lose weight. It makes the likelihood of keeping up with the healthy lifestyle all that much more unlikely to happen for a lifetime. That's why low carbing never worked for me. I was a raging lunatic! So, yeah, gotta keep a smile on your face and have fun!
