Good morning, well almost afternoon.
It is weigh in day for me, first in three weeks. The number three is key it seems as over the past three weeks I have lost three pounds. Good, not great but certainly as I tell many others; any loss is worth celebrating.
Over the past three weeks I have picked up my exercise effort, this past week especially. I can feel it, I feel it in energy levels, in strength, in stamina. And I am enjoying the feeling.
Over the past three weeks I have had great days of eating, and good days, and a few so-so days. Calorically the great days I am around 1800 calories in, good around 2000, so-so around 2400+... So it is very easy for me to see why I lost just three pounds. Eating consistency, plain and simple.
I am eating in a manner that is allowing me to lose weight slow and steady. Slow and steady has been my approach from day one and will remain so through to the end. Now that said, it is a bit slower than I'd like; about 1/2 pound a week slower than desired.
The adjustment needed to get that extra 1/2 pound a week off is not in exercise, nope just keep doing what I have been doing the past couple of weeks. Food, being more vigilant in my food intake and keeping the days intake consistently under 2000 calories will see it happen.
That's it, keeping it simple here in my review of my own performance on this mission... Doing good, having fun, and I understand I am capable of more and how to produce it.
In a sentence, how would you review your own performance?
Responsibility 199 - Gotta Do It!!
Any loss, even small, is great.
ReplyDeleteGood job on your loss, Patrick! Have a great Sunday.
ReplyDeletea lb a week is good progress Patrick, I think you are doing great and looking great. As for me reviewing myself these days I think I'm just looking to get back to a normal routine. I know slow and steady is definitely the way to go for me right now.
ReplyDeleteSame as yours...
ReplyDeleteI know I can do more...
And I am doing more!
And more poking!
Congrats on your loss, Patrick. At a pound a week, all you need is patience. I'd take it!
ReplyDeletePatrick, you have done great & the pics show it! How are those clothes fitting? With the eating plan being good but you seem to be doing more weights, you may losing fat, gaining muscle & the scale does not show that part of it.. the muscle replacing the fat. As you know, muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less room.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
Great job! Love the visual.
ReplyDeleteI have always gone from gung ho overboard crazy, to crap. Slow and steady is new for me, but in the long run I know it will serve me better.
Congrats on the loss!
ReplyDeleteWay to go with the continued downward progress!
ReplyDeleteConsistency. That's what I am working on, too.
ReplyDeleteI like how you review your performance, with the understanding of believing you are capable of more, and looking to see how to produce that. Very positive approach!
Way to go Patrick! 3lbs isn't bad at all!! Congrats
ReplyDeleteThat is a great loss, Patrick. Down 69.5 pounds!! Now you can amp it up a bit if you want - keep tricking your body. I believe in the slow and steady loss too (although, of course, I'd like it to be faster). When you lose too fast at my age people think you look haggard and that something is wrong with you...slow and steady lets your body and others get used to it on a gradual basis (if that makes any sense). I so love your attitude and it comes across in every one of your posts.
ReplyDeleteMy own performance review ... Living, loving, learning on my journey to good health.
That is a nice loss!
ReplyDeleteI've definitely kicked it up a notch for the last week.
Great job Patrick...many strokes overthrow even the tallest oaks!! Keep on choppin away at it!!
ReplyDeleteAs for me...Hmmmm. I would say I may not always be the perfect dieter but I never give up trying!!
You're doing great, Patrick. I love your attitude, and I always leave feeling uplifted after I read your posts. :)
ReplyDeleteI think your doing great Patrick.... keep it up!
ReplyDeleteMy weigh-in results will be available Tuesday, and I have to say that I'm happy this week. I stopped logging my workouts into thedailyplate.com, because it adds back the calories I work off. Staying with in my calorie goal this week paid off, and I think I'm ready to up the ante on the exercise.
ReplyDeleteFive thumbs up! Seriously. I have five thumbs.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all that you have accomplished so far! Slow and steady really does win the race!
ReplyDeleteSlow losses stay off longer. You rock!
ReplyDeleteIm all about the slow and steady
ReplyDeleteTOOK ME EONS to lose my weight---but it stayed lost :)
My performance . . .is getting better each day.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
ReplyDeleteFantastic blog post, well done
I love your little cartoon, that made me smile
