Responsibility 199, what is it?

Responsibility 199 is a belief; I believe that to be healthy and to increase my longevity I need to weigh 199 pounds or less...
Responsibility 199 is a need; I need to reduce my weight, reduce my percentage of body fat, and the elevated threat of disease my present condition presents...
Responsibility 199 is a mission; I recognize that achieving 199 will be a challenge, perhaps the hardest I have ever undertaken...
Responsibility 199 is a commitment; I acknowledge that I must commit to action, commit to change, commit to myself and those I love to achieve this mission, to increase my longevity...
Responsibility 199 is ME.

Day 168 - October Challenge: OCTGTD

To date I have not joined any challenges because, well, because it has been challenge enough to do just what I am doing. But yesterday I joined one simply because it fell in line with what I am hoping to improve upon this month as it is. It is the October: Going the Distance Challenge being sponsored by Fat Girl vs. World.

Even if you are not interested in the challenge itself check out her post and blog if not familiar with her; not likely as she is quite popular not to mention cool. As for myself,  as I replied to her after submitting myself for the challenge I am just progressing from walking to a combo of walking & jogging so that is how I will be meeting the challenge. Just 25 miles, which I bet I complete easily to be honest. My inner side-challenge to seriously attack this will be to see at least half of that be jogging vs. walking. So there you go, challenge on!

Busy weekend planned here. Soccer games for two of the boys. Getting the hunting gear ready and zeroing in the rifles at the range with all of the boys. Daughter will be off doing home coming stuff so we wont see much of her. And between all of that the usual errands, exercise and healthy eating.

What about you?
Plans for the weekend?
Taking it easy?

Responsibility 199 - Gotta Do It!!

  1. Thanks for the heads up about the challenge. I could use something to focus on about now so I think I'll join in :)

    Good luck!

  2. That sounds like a fantastic goal, Patrick. Way to dial it up a notch! I'm looking forward to some hiking, apple-picking, applesauce-making and dinner with friends this weekend. Have a good one!

  3. I think I may just sign up, push myself a little ...

push myself AWAY from the Halloween candy!!! LOL

  4. Good for you! I'll go check her out.

Hubby is in Chicago currently and next weekend will be my turn. This weekend we are doing exciting things like going to a knitting circle and waiting for him to return home.

  5. Good luck! That's the first challenge I've joined as well. See you there!

  6. You'll be in the 250-somethings in no time, Patrick. Good luck with the challenge, you'll do great!

  7. Wish you the best with your challenge!

  8. I like your goal of more jogging. I'm working on that, too.

  9. Good luck, Patrick. I love Fat Girl vs. World. She is cool and funny.

  10. I'm unofficially committing to wearing this new pedometer daily and increasing my steps/minutes til I get up to that magical 10,000 per day!

  11. Lots of challenges out there! Good luck & I have no doubt you will meet your goals as you are on a roll & your head is in the game!!!

  12. Patrick, you know me, watching football most of the weekend. Plus a little work... And mainly hitting the gym. Yesterday (Sat.) I went for an amazing jog along Lake Mich and it was so soul invigorating, I must tell you. :)

  13. um yes.
would you maybe kindasorta think about doing a guest post for me some day?
