Responsibility 199, what is it?

Responsibility 199 is a belief; I believe that to be healthy and to increase my longevity I need to weigh 199 pounds or less...
Responsibility 199 is a need; I need to reduce my weight, reduce my percentage of body fat, and the elevated threat of disease my present condition presents...
Responsibility 199 is a mission; I recognize that achieving 199 will be a challenge, perhaps the hardest I have ever undertaken...
Responsibility 199 is a commitment; I acknowledge that I must commit to action, commit to change, commit to myself and those I love to achieve this mission, to increase my longevity...
Responsibility 199 is ME.

Day 293 - They Said What?

Good Morning. Your snow storm (a.k.a. Snowmagator) update for today; our schools are closed again. Urgency is lacking in getting the roads back to normal. A bit surprising it is taking so long for me it is no big deal really, I can work from home easy enough.

Yesterday it took two of my teenage boys & I 1.5 hours to remove all the snow from our driveway & sidewalks. They say we had 20 inches of snow fall, I believe them.

There you see a picture before we got started. My daughters car had drifts around it that I took a tape measure to which were 35 inches deep. Bummer too as I really wanted go out and shoot some hoops!

Today seems like a great day to give some Shout-Outs to some bloggers and their posts which grabbed me good recently. Check them out, I think you'll be glad you did and follow on with these fine bloggers if you are not doing so already...

MARY from A Merry Life gave us this cool & very unique insight into what has been motivating her over he long journey. Literally long!
Do you have your own, "The Stack" story?
Myself, nothing as cool as Mary, but I have a bunch of T's I've received as gifts over the past decade that are 1x which I am determined to fit into this year.

DEB from Deb Shrinks got my attention quickly with the title of this post, Vaseline, frozen eyelashes, oh, and ONEDERLAND BABY!!! Actually when I saw it all I read was 'Vaseline' and I raced to click open the post; what does that say about me? It wasn't until I read onto the final paragraph that I noticed her HUGE NSV NEWS where she has arrived in ONEDERLAND.
Have you had an NSV recently you have yet to share?
Myself, well, I have a pre-NSV in that I am on the verge of taking hammer & punch to my old belt again. Maybe in a week or two; NO, definitely in a week or two!

BETHANY from Bethany's Journey is a new blogger. She is also the daughter of KAREN from Sunshine's Heart, so you can call this a Two'fer Shout Out entry. CAUTION, if you do not like cute pictures of infants & toddlers, don't go here. Bethany has begun her weight-loss journey, lets share our experiences with her to help get her off and moving here.
Remember when you started your weight-loss journey?
Myself, absolutely. The difference from then to now in my knowledge of the topic and understanding of my capabilities is as different as the taste of cow-pies and moon-pies (making an assumption here that cow-pies taste worse than bad).

Spread What Moves You & Shout Out Some Link Love This Week!

  1. The snow was not too bad in the Detroit area. The Chicago area definitely got more. I dug out my home - good luck with yours. I hope your Feb is going to plan so far! I am looking for big things from you and your ticker this month!

  3. I'm planning a post today about a couple of NSV's. One I never considered was having to move the seat forward in the car. I got in and couldn't touch the pedals!

  4. Enough of the snow already! LOL! I don't mind snow, but we haven't been getting warm enough to melt off between each storm. At least the sun is bright and shining today.

  5. Thanks for the shout-out, Patrick. I'm sure Bethany will be on later today to thank you too. They are getting their internet installed today so she wont have to come over to our house to blog.:)

  6. Not sure if we'll get any more snow in the UK (supposed to be more in a couple of weeks, apparently) but the snow we had at the end of November/beginning of December makes up for it!

NONE of the roads near us were gritted...

  7. I have had an actual scale victory, as of this morning I have lost 50 of the 72 I set out to lose.

The sun is out in Missouri today but it's like 14 below, no melting of the layer of tundra today. I miss fresh air, I am anxiously waiting for better weather.

  8. Whoa, that snow looks brutal! Yikes. So your belt is getting another work-out, is it? My NSV is that I have not eaten fast food for over a month.

  9. That snow looks scary!! I don't do cold :( Next year, I'm investing in thermals and a winter coat of epic proportions given I won't have all this body fat to warm me anymore ;)

NSV? Phil added daily morning push-ups to our spreadsheet for this month and I've done them every morning (and saying I'm not a morning person is a HUGE understatement). I even squeezed out an extra 5 today :) Kudos on the belt- it WILL happen, power of positive thinking!!

  10. I'm definitely not envying you midwesterners recently. Y'all can keep all that white stuff. Which weight loss journey am I supposed to remember? The one where I finally got serious and started getting it done or the many, many others that have failed or waned through the years? Truth...I remember them all.

  11. Just starting, going strong, but wishing I were at the tail end of this journey.

  12. The weather is craziness! These are the times when the crowdiness of where I live outweighs the snow.... I grew up in it but don't want it now unless I go for a vacation in it.. not live in it.

I do a lot of link love over at my place. I usually don't do one post with a bunch of them but always refer to people along the way in my posts... it is nice to give shout outs!

  13. Dude you had an NSV yesterday-the 2 minute plank!!!! Or as I like to call it 'hell on all fours'. I will make a video when I can break the 4 minutes, and I will not be moving all over the place like some of those peeps on there. ;-) This is where I tell you that I think you had boys just to have peeps to shovel your snow. ;-) Isn't that the only reason to have kids? HAHAHAHA

  14. Thanks for the shout out. Though, I will point out that reaching onderland is technically not a nsv. It is very much defined by the scale, so I think it would be a sv.

  15. WOW! I just can't imagine waking up to that much snow! We have a lot of ice here today, but so far no snow. Stay warm, Patrick! *Hugs*

  16. I haven't seen this much snow since I was a kid. Now they are saying there is more on the way. Where will we put it???
My NSV is that I am now fitting into shirts that I haven't been able to get into for about 3 years. They are probably out of style but I don't care...I got into them!!! Yeaaaah!
