Responsibility 199, what is it?

Responsibility 199 is a belief; I believe that to be healthy and to increase my longevity I need to weigh 199 pounds or less...
Responsibility 199 is a need; I need to reduce my weight, reduce my percentage of body fat, and the elevated threat of disease my present condition presents...
Responsibility 199 is a mission; I recognize that achieving 199 will be a challenge, perhaps the hardest I have ever undertaken...
Responsibility 199 is a commitment; I acknowledge that I must commit to action, commit to change, commit to myself and those I love to achieve this mission, to increase my longevity...
Responsibility 199 is ME.

Day 238-242 Read, See, Watch & Be Inspired

Hello one and all! Been a few days since I dabbled into the blogs including my own. This past weekend was a working weekend for me. Every so often we release new or changed technology into our business. When we do part of the zillion things I do is oversee such releases. The good news, we kicked @$$!! The bad news, it killed my weekend time with family, friends and our pets too.

The ugly news, I have felt semi-ill and off-game Monday & Tuesday. I wasn't sick to the point where I stayed home sick. Rather my gut was churning and burning and with it my attitude and mood has been sedate and quiet. I started coming around yesterday afternoon and just in time too. My wife wanted to go out to dinner and the hit some stores to all but finish our Christmas shopping. By the time the work day was done I my mood was well on the rebound and we had a great date night.

A few of you posted/wrote emails asking if all was well; very kind of you to check in on me and make sure I hadn't slipped face first off the health wagon and into a vat of bacon wrapped sausage ice cream. I can assure you I remain committed to getting healthier each day and the scale has been smiling back at me. But more inspiring than the scale are NSV's. It has been a while since I've had one that I felt worthy to share but today, well I have an excellent one...

Take a look at the picture up there, do you see the NSV in that photo? No, not the V-8, Protein shake and fruit I brought to work today. That stuff is all good and minus the shake it is a part of my daily feedbag; these shakes I drink 2-3x a month when so moved and today is one of those days. Back to the NSV, it is my watch! Or more accurately my wrist. My weight loss has made it to the point where my wrists have shed enough girth that my watchband is not only no longer snug on me but it is so loose my watch spins around on my wrist. While this is a very cool NSV, it is also a bit irritating. So I shall soon celebrate by having a link removed from this watchband. Can I get an Oh Yeah!

Now, if that wasn't inspiring for you this fine morning, well then all I can say is watch this...

Responsibility 199 - Gotta Do It!!

  1. Oh yeah! That is a most unexpected NSV.

It is weird the things that don't fit anymore. I know I most often think of clothes but a watch isn't even in the list. I recently flipped out of 2 pairs of shoes. Did you know you can lose length as well as width?

  2. I saw that NSV right away! You go Patrick!!!!! Hope you are all better & you are on track again! Too bad we all can't be independently wealthy so work never go int the way! ;-)

  3. Oh YEAH!!! WOOHOOO!!!! You know you are making major progress when you lose it in the most unexpected places! Glad you are on the upswing. OOHRAH!! Love the video too

  4. That's a great NSV! Oh and if that's a grapefruit in the picture you can save it for me :)

  5. Glad you are feeling better, Patrick. VERY happy to see the rotating watch ... they are rare, and sightings are almost unheard of! Cool ...

  6. Funny - I got "mad" just this morning.
    Effing mad!
    Madder than ever..... almost!
And I am now done with it.
And to think, I tried to stifle it all this time.
    Mad enough to change.

Good on the watch band.... I noticed it right away!
Wedding ring is looking good, too!

  7. Mmmmm bacon wrapped sausage ice cream.
Only a fellow ex-fattie gets why that would be good to drown in.

I've recently had the same issues with my watch. I have bracelets that don't fit anymore. I measured my wrist and it is only 6.5 inches. I have normal wrists now! OH YEAH, baby! Glad to hear from you. We miss you when you're gone.

  8. While I'm part of the new generation that no longer wears a watch I can't wait to see a rotating heart rate monitor! Keep up your general awesomeness. You're doing great man.

  9. Whew. Thanks for specifying about the watch. I was worried that you had gotten so desperate for a negative number that you chopped off your fingers! Or maybe chewed them off in your sleep while dreaming of bacon wrapped sausage ice cream. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. . . . .

Thanks for checking in. I missed ya!

  10. That's a great NSV - way to go! Thanks for sharing the video post.

  11. Ive been fitness blogging too too long.

the first thing I noticed was the watch!!!

  12. I love it when stuff gets loose- best measurement!! Glad you're feeling better!

  13. Bacon wrapped sausage ice cream? I can't really get my head wrapped around that one. Oh yeah - great NSV Patrick!

  14. Wow, three days in between updates? I'm going through Patrick withdrawl! I hope you're feeling okay and just having a lot of fun!

  15. Wow, you miss 3 days of blogging and I missed about 7 weeks of blogging! But I knew I could check in on your blog for some good news. Great NSV!

  16. Good to hear that you are doing well, Patrick.
