Responsibility 199, what is it?

Responsibility 199 is a belief; I believe that to be healthy and to increase my longevity I need to weigh 199 pounds or less...
Responsibility 199 is a need; I need to reduce my weight, reduce my percentage of body fat, and the elevated threat of disease my present condition presents...
Responsibility 199 is a mission; I recognize that achieving 199 will be a challenge, perhaps the hardest I have ever undertaken...
Responsibility 199 is a commitment; I acknowledge that I must commit to action, commit to change, commit to myself and those I love to achieve this mission, to increase my longevity...
Responsibility 199 is ME.

Day 352 - New Week, Plan-Awareness-Family

source
New Week, starts today; all weeks start on Monday's in my book. The calendar may say Sunday, but Sunday is part of the WeekEND, not WeekNEW.

New Week, it happens every seven days without fail, ready for it or not, it is here for you!

Are You Ready For It?

Myself, I am ready for this week. How do I know? Because I have a trio of things working for me.

ONE - Plan... I have a plan for the week, it is as follows...
Eating plan contains a F/C/P nutrient mix of 25% / 25% / 50% with no more than 2000 calories a day.
Exercise plan consists of 3x Cardio, 3x Weights & Stretching with each of those six.
Employment plan focuses on leading via accountable goal setting, open communication, mutual trust and just recognition.
Enjoyment plan starts today attending my daughters soccer game, and everyday this week I'll have fun at work, home and on the blogs.

TWO - Awareness... I am aware of what is to gain for executing my plan, and what is risk should I choose not to.
Anything I/we need and want is attainable if I engage my plan honestly and earnestly.
Everything can end in a heart beat if it's certainty is taken for granted or assumed.

THREE - Family... I have the rich fortune of a supportive family. My immediate family I've spoken of here previously on several occasions. Recently, motivated by the need to rally support in my cancer battle, I made my situation known to my family coast to coast. The word I sent out saw some supportive words returned to me.

An Aunt of mine who engaged in this same battle in the 90's shared a very strong & sound approach to the beast, she said, "I chose to assume that I would beat it and refused to allow the fear to grow any more than I couldn’t help."
-Strength and Strategy decides battles, wins wars. I find her approach to contain both and I embrace it.

Another Aunt of mine offered very unique aid in my quest for both health and victory, she said, "So I could drink a liter of water for you or eat your brussell sprouts. I think your plan is sound, just keep at it and keep laughing."
-Anytime someone offers to eat brussell sprouts for you, take them up on it I say. While those veggies will certainly benefit her more than I, her reminder to keep laughing is key to getting well and staying well.

Like I said, I have the rich fortune of a supportive family.

How about you?... Have a Plan for the week?... Are you Aware of the stakes?... How does that someone, or many someones, in your Family support you?

  1. My plan for the week is to stay on track foodwise and exercise 4 days this week which include cardio and strength training. If, I don't accomplish this, I will most likely go overboard this weekend on our mini vacation and feel awful once we get back. So, I need to be better about staying on plan in social situations because life happens, it's what I choose to do in those situations that matter.

My husband is my most amazing supporter. He's right there with me every night at the gym. He's in the kitchen cooking healthy meals for us to eat. I definitely wouldn't be able to do this without him.

You have a good plan in place, Patrick. I wish you the best.

  4. My plan is to manage the change in work responsibilities and stay strong with my 365 day challenge. Fortunately these days I have plenty of family support so my foundation is still steady.

  5. I have a PLAN and a small but strong SUPPORT SYSTEM in place. Oh, and of course, plenty of HUMOR, too!

  6. I have one of the most supportive families ever. I don't know what I'd do without them, and I haven't faced nearly the battles that you have. I am truly grateful for them.

  7. I am ashamed to admit that I am planLESS this week. Meals, exercise, all up in the air right now. Hoping I don't call the week a failure already and will attempt to make a plan tonight. Wasn't feeling it over the weekend. I think your aunts are very wise women.

  8. I am truly blessed to have very supportive husband and kids! I don't really have much family other than that but they more than make up for it.

  9. Great post Patrick. Yes, I have a supportive family. I think I have a plan, it just depends on whether my leg will cooperate. I am aware of the stakes. I love that enjoyment is part of your plan.

  10. Have a great week Patrick. The way it sounds there's nothing that can change that. Keep up the great work Patrick. I know life has lots of uncertainty right now but keeping the faith and keep the attitude, you'll do well.
Take care Patrick, God bless you and your family.
