Responsibility 199, what is it?

Responsibility 199 is a belief; I believe that to be healthy and to increase my longevity I need to weigh 199 pounds or less...
Responsibility 199 is a need; I need to reduce my weight, reduce my percentage of body fat, and the elevated threat of disease my present condition presents...
Responsibility 199 is a mission; I recognize that achieving 199 will be a challenge, perhaps the hardest I have ever undertaken...
Responsibility 199 is a commitment; I acknowledge that I must commit to action, commit to change, commit to myself and those I love to achieve this mission, to increase my longevity...
Responsibility 199 is ME.

About Patrick

Hello, I am Patrick, welcome to my blog.

Life is good and if pressed I can find little to complain about as far as my life and that of my family is concerned. Oh I am fairly opinionated and don't mind sharing my thoughts, but agree or disagree with them they shouldn't be heard as complaints. For I know I am in control of my life and from my efforts I, we, are quite happy.

For over 10 years now I have been happily married to Cathy. We are raising 4 amazing children, 1 girl & 3 boys, who keep us busy and focused on being happy. Professionally I am an Information Technology Project Manager. Educationally I hold a Bachelor's Degree which took me longer to complete that I like to admit. The Chain of Lakes area in Lake County Illinois is where we call home.

As of today (April 18, 2010) I am approaching 45 years of age and I weigh a ridiculous amount of weight. The limitations my obesity has upon my ability to live life is the one aspect of my life which I am most unhappy with. Simply I have had enough. We, Cathy & I, are in the same boat and have had enough of living life with these limitations. Cathy got a couple weeks head start on me in making this realization. She started documenting her journey on a blog but didn't develop the passion for blogging that I have. Her starting her blog is what got me doing the same. And even though she is no longer blogging, she is losing along with me.  Or is it I along with here? :-)

So here it is, Responsibility 199, my blog about my mission to get healthy again.

I welcome one and all to follow and comment as my mission unfolds.

Responsibility 199... Gotta Do It!!
