Responsibility 199, what is it?

Responsibility 199 is a belief; I believe that to be healthy and to increase my longevity I need to weigh 199 pounds or less...
Responsibility 199 is a need; I need to reduce my weight, reduce my percentage of body fat, and the elevated threat of disease my present condition presents...
Responsibility 199 is a mission; I recognize that achieving 199 will be a challenge, perhaps the hardest I have ever undertaken...
Responsibility 199 is a commitment; I acknowledge that I must commit to action, commit to change, commit to myself and those I love to achieve this mission, to increase my longevity...
Responsibility 199 is ME.

Day 145 - Tool Time, Again

It is that time again. I just can't go another day without taking up tools & making this right.
~

Three times before I have been here.
I've made One, Two, Three improvements on the work of a craftsman in China.
Surely he did not foresee this being needed.
~

Make the FOUR improvements!
~

Holy wardrobe what-the-€¥£$; all is not right in Illinois.
Perhaps not in Denmark either, I can't concern myself with the Danes today.
This wrong can be righted when I get to work where just the tool awaits (no not the guy who sits next to me).
~

Magic stuff the not so distant cousin of duct tape is.
~

All is right again, for now.
I shall keep my hammer, punch & double-sided tape close by for the next time.

There will be a next time!

How well does your belt fit today?

  1. Can we pass the hat and get you a belt at Kohl's or something. Geez.. Thin is hard...

  2. Funny! I think you should keep the belt as a memory, but I'm with Allan. You need to invest in a new belt! LOL

  3. You are too much BUT LOVE THE VISUAL!!! Says it all, doesn't it! Keep up all the great stuff you are doing to make you one healthy & fit guy again!

Patrick, thx for all the wonderful comments you leave on my blog.. so meaningful!

  4. TEEHEEHEE! I love this! But really, you should think about buying a NEW belt for nice occasions. Tape only gets you so far mister! :-) But that must be so FUN to make another notch in your belt! I bet you were grinning the whole time!

  5. How cool is that?? I'd wear that belt 'til it wraps around you twice....why buy a new one until you absolutely have to! Love it!!

  6. Yep I think new belt needs to go on the goal rewards list. Never thought of tape for that lol glad to see you didn't use ductape as some men might lol.

  7. I agree with everyone else - I think it's time for a new belt my friend. It's a great reason to buy one!

  8. Dude, why use tape? The belt loops go all the way around. I have a similar belt. It is embarrassing when the long extension somehow falls out and it is just floating out there in front of you...like some black leather divining rod.

Could be time for a new belt, my friend.

  9. so cool, reminds you all the time of your progress, congrats on ... er... um... getting a new hole??? Ditto Allan, new belt time!!

  10. I look really ridiculous with my belts and pants these days. For some reasons I have refused to go to the store and buy a new belt (or cloths for that matter). I will need to start punching holes in my belt too. Congrats. Just make sure you punch the holes with the belt off your body!

  11. Congrats! I think I'd keep wearing the old belt just for inspiration. You can get the new one when you're finally "there."

  12. LOL ... This was a wonderful NSV, Patrick! Have you measured how many inches, from the last "original" hole, to the newest creation?

I don't know what the belt-etiquette is for length wrapped around, but I think I'd stop wearing it to work, if the belt wraps around to the back. (No such restrictions on what one wears at home, or exercising, of course!)

And Clyde is right, you don't want the tape to fail and the end to float out in front of you. It is like the comb-over guy who stands on a windy Chicago Loop corner ... or the divining rod as Clyde put it (funny!)

Hey, if you gave Allan a viable fruit suggestion, perhaps he'll give you with a smaller belt! LOL

Keep up the good work. That was a very fun, and funny, post to read. I really enjoyed it. Congrats on the NSV!!

  14. Patick- that is just plain awesome.

I have gone to wearing a belt like this.... http://www.511tactical.com/browse/Home/Law-Enforcement/Accessories/Belts/TDU-Belt-15-Plastic-Buckle/D/30100/P/1:100:10000:10900:10906/I/59551

  15. So, at what point do you treat yourself to a new belt?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Way to go, Patrick. You must keep that belt forever! You were mentioned on my blog today as a thank you for being you and for your support - http://haveyougainedweight.blogspot.com/2010/09/men.html

  17. I think, even if you get a new belt, you need to keep that one, and keep putting holes in it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love the belt. Keep it! Congrats on the new hole!

Umm....that's just didn't come out right. Congrats anyway!

  19. LOL, all of you are great; cracking me up too. No need to pass a hat, I can scrape up enough cash fora new belt. And I feel I will have to soon too for wearing to work. But this belt I will not get rid of and I will continue to wear it on weekends. It is a constant reminder of what Iam doing and my success so far, so the thought of not wearing it daily is not a pleasant one. But, I amstarting to look a bit sloppy at work with my clothes getting loose and baggier and as well the belt which hangs free more often now.

All in all, I have a wonderful problem and will remedy it with a smile.

  20. Hmmm . . . usually when a guy is putting "notches on his belt," it means a whole other thing entirely. LOL! What a wonderful way to actually see the results of all your hard work!

  21. I say instead of a "blog hop" we could have a "sock hop."
Or a "sack-cloth hop" where we pass clothes down to the
next-sized blogger....Box em up and ship em out!

  22. Talk about the travelling pants!
*I wasn't quick enough to add this to the comment above*
    :D

  23. LOL, nice Anne... blogger hand me downs. I go a mess of 3XL's that need a home, any takers :-)

    ReplyDelete
  24. No way, keep the belt!

If I lose any more weight, I'm drilling myself (the first additional)

    ReplyDelete
  25. That belt has a life of it's own now and an awesome stury to tell! Fabulous :)
